What's the best car to take on a roadtrip?

When you hit the road for a long trip, what's your style? Cute little convertible, super comfortable minivan, or big bruising SUV? I like to travel in style, but I'm not sure that I want to sacrifice lots of leg room, not to mention survive multiple days with windblown hair. Help!

Fuel prices are a bit outrageous so if you want to have money fr your trip go for this one.It looks fairly descent.

actually, i have rented a mustang for a road trip!!! more than once. spectacular. (my suv is a gas hog and the volvo sedan has no balls. this girl likes to DRIVE on her weekend road trips.) becky z

Ford Mustang! Fun to drive, fun to be seen in, and when you reach stretches of road that are long and empty, a nice fast way to zoom through it all.... P.S. if you're going to be driving, you should stop at South of the Border.

Mustang's too small for people and kittie; Nitro is a total POS and rides like one too; Vue is actually a pretty nice car... too bad all of GM offerings aren't this well thought-out!

SUVs are a no-go (I'm European). The middle thing is a compromise (as middle things quite often are). Actually I wouldn't take any of those...

The Nitro is so roomy and has two 10'' dvd's! Travel in style on or off road and the hemi has more juice than you need!!

Ford makes some of the best cars. And i'd trust any of there cars on a raodtrip case i know they wont beak down in the middle of no where. Im planing on taking a 09' or 08' Mustang on my roadtrip with my friend next summer.
